Dough Art

Hers comes the art which is very intresting n very easy to make too. The dough art. We simply need the dough, made up of a flour, water and a bit of salt. Make a soft dough out of it, form any shape out of it, as per your creativity, and then let it dry for maybe 2-3 days as climate is at your place. And when it dries, we can color it in any way as we like.

Here my kids have made, a fish , snake and also colored some macaroni's to give it the sea effect. One thing that needs to kept in mind, is we need to keep on changing the positions of the dough, so as it dries uniformly.

Paper cutting

This is something kids learned from the book named Picture Pie, by Ed Emberley. He used circles to be divided and cut like a pie and then make pictures of all kinds. Four simple basic shapes, cirle, semicirle, quarter circle and half of quarter ; can be put back together to make a set of more complex shapes.

These are a few like mouse, fish, dog , sharks, birds n all .. that he made.

Here's a more closer look ...

All made by the four basic shapes only, and just its arrangement. Doing these types of activities enhances the creativity in kids. They look at these basic shapes from an altogether different appraoch. There are so many complex figures too in the book like lion, clowns, flowers, dogs n cats, trees and lots more. The books uses different coloured papers, but Aryan preferred using white paper and then lastly coloring him as he wished.

Card making

Here comes Aryan's first art, which he learned from Artzooka, and made many versions of it.. :) Not the holiday stuff, but done when he was at home for more than 2 months, with his fractured leg. Its a simple card sorta thing, which we as kids used to make as a bird with his mouth open. He had made so many beautiful animals with the same concept..

Hers comes panda bear.. with his big big eyes n big mouth..

Then comes the lion with his big tounge..

And also a tiger with sharp pointy teeth..

There were a few more, but got spolied before i could click them..:(

Welcome note

I have made this blog as to collect all my kids arts at one place, and also to give other kids of similar agegroup a lots of ideas. My elder son Aryan is quite creative and artistic, and younger Anuj is also learning a lot from him. Aryan does make a lot of aristic stuff, some i did have collected, but most of it get spoiled eventually, or they themselves outgrow it. Hence i thought atleast i can click a snap , and save it online for the lifetime. From today onwards their school holidays have also started, and its time for full art n craft. So do keep looking for this space for fantastic kids stuff...
